Iverify received a panic signal from the location at 11:24 AM. Iverify spoke to the store manager who stated that two known shoplifters had recently left the location. First suspect is an African-American male wearing a yellow hat made of a netted material, sun glasses, black coat and dark pants; the second suspect is an African-American male wearing black hat with the letter “D” on it, black jacket and dark colored pants. The store manager asked Iverify to review the location’s video and see what, if any, items had been taken.
Suspect Activity
Iverify reviewed the location’s video and saw the two suspects in question. The first suspect, who was wearing a yellow hat, sun glasses and a black coat, was seen walking around the location until he reached the “Health and Beauty” aisle. The suspect was then seen taking several bottles of lotion and placing them down the front of his pants. The suspect was then seen walking up and down the “Health and Beauty” aisle taking other various items and placing them down the front of his pants before exiting the location.
The second suspect, who was wearing a black winter style hat, black coat and dark colored pants, was seen entering the location and going straight to the front of the store where the shampoo is kept. The suspect was then seen taking several bottles of shampoo and walking towards the “Health and Beauty aisle. Once at the “Health and Beauty” aisle, the suspect was observed taking the bottles of shampoo and placing them down the front of his pants.
Both suspects were then seen together, walking down the “Health and Beauty” aisle placing bottles of lotion down the front of their pants before exiting the location.
Iverify Response
Iverify spoke to the manager of the location and inquired as to why he hadn’t contacted Iverify for almost 10 minutes after the suspects had left the location. The manager stated that he was just notified of the presence of the two known shoplifters by store associates who were working the registers. Both associates were frightened of the suspects because they didn’t know if they were armed or not.
Iverify encouraged the associates to notify security immediately if the suspects are ever seen at the location again and to please not wait until the suspects have taken items and left the location before contacting. This will ensure that police can be dispatched.
