Recently a cashier at a national retail store called Iverify after a few unusual subjects had entered the store. They were wearing jackets and hooded sweatshirts, carried large purses, and were all using cell phones.
Immediately The “I” began to monitor the situation. After getting pictures of each subject, Iverify made a general announcement [link to http://www.iverify.us/protection/voice_commands] over the store’s intercom system. The announcement did not call the customers out, but welcomed customers to the store while reminding everyone that it was being monitored. Immediately after the audio broadcast, the subjects left the store and left together in the same car. Iverify was even able to record their license plate number.
The video, taken by Iverify while the subjects browsed the store, showed that these customers were communicating with each other over their cell phones to coordinate their efforts. According to the FBI, organized retail theft like this is a $37 billion a year problem. Thanks to the proactive yet non-invasive announcement from The “I”, these people left the store without any loss or incident.
